Enjoying 2015

I've decided that I don't need to "own" or "rock" 2015.  I think enjoying it will be quite enough, perhaps even better.  I'm looking to try to slow down life a little.  Now that doesn't mean I don't want to go on any adventures, or travel, or take risks.  It just means that all in all, day in and day out, I'd like to have a little more quiet time...some time for reading, writing, drinking a cup of tea, cuddling with Henry or Margo on the couch or doing some crafting with the girls.  I want to spend quality time with friends and family and also make sure I spend quality time with myself.  So there you have it... my theme for 2015 in a not so short nutshell...

So here is my "Enjoying 2015" list:

Adventure Time/ Tough Chick Stuff:
Ride a Mechanical Bull - this is just going to stay on the list year in and year out until it gets done...
Do a pull up
Run a 5K - no walking
Complete the Warrior Dash - already signed up!

Reading/ Writing/ Creative Expression:
Read 40 Books
Read a mixture of fiction/nonfiction/adult/teen/and children's
Finish reading Rebecca - seriously!  do it! do it now!

Send my "pay it forward" homemade gifts to my pay it forward list
One writing prompt a month
Check in on this list and blog once a month

Nesting: (Don't go getting any ideas about my word choice - I just mean settling into a new home and life:))
Finish Unpacking
Crochet mom's afghan squares together
Try 6 new recipes
Blog about those recipes!  at least photograph them! I need extra encouragement on some things:-)
Sew something- anything :-)
Get Married! Yes - I think I will :-) and I think I'll have someone take some photos too!

General Goals:

  • More quiet disconnected time - stop looking at the phone, take in the scenery, do some stretching... be peaceful
  • Be Healthy - Eat good things, remember to take medications (do it!), move about and have fun, rest when I need to.
  • Don't stress about the to-do list.  The house doesn't have to be perfect. Spend free time with family and friends
  • Smile and laugh everyday
  • Live in the moment, don't dwell on the past or worry about the future
  • And my favorite that I will carry over from last year "strive to be like mom and dad. Giving, loving, forgiving, brave."
